Reborn in inversity

Description

After the prognosis of an inevitable crash with a giant asteroid is made, the humanity decides to start a major campaign for building an underground evacuation system. The concept contained in creating a bombshelter like structure, but in whole different scale – great number of vertical shafts, reaching to a safer and suitable for processing depth under the surface and then combining with tunnels and hall spaces. However, after decades of building the system the humanity reaches the point of science breakthrough, that gives it the whole better opportunity of migrating to another planet. Only few stay.
Many years after the “Noah-project”, Earth really survives the monstrous crash, leaving it a wasteland.
The life however finds its way – after thousands of years a new ecosystem is born – everything that humanity has done under the surface evolves in a whole new world. The deflected underground water flow forms vast oceans, boiling with heat and constantly evaporating.The people, who were left behind, survive, mutating into creatures, symbiotically living with the new species. Neither an animal nor a plant, they live inside a protective embrio-shell and through a connection with all other living creatures.
The Underground ecosystem lives as one, always communicating. Wrapped around the giant skeleton-like tree structures, live all kinds of epiphytes, combining with it in one vast organism.
